The Kalyan- Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) on Thursday approved a budget of ₹2,123 crore for infrastructure development, traffic management, health issues, sprucing up of public spaces, and other civic amenities in Kalyan and Dombivli.
However, the opposition keaders have demanded two days’ deliberation time.
The 2019-20 budget, presented by standing committee chairman Dipesh Mahatre, has allocated funds for waterfront development, a cycling track, aquaria and a two-acre park in Dombivli.
KDMC has also kept aside funds for big infrastructure projects, including widening of roads connecting Shilphata with Tata Power House and Sandap village with Betavade, besides a 100-foot road from Malang Gad to Shriram Chowk.
Funds are also reserved for 100 CCTV cameras and to set up two control rooms.
To increase its revenues, KDMC has decided to impose property tax on 80,000 new constructions to increase its revenues by Rs 150 crore.
KDMC has also decided to start parking spaces near railway stations and charge fees for advertisement hoardings.
All KDMC files would sport barcodes and would be uploaded online.
