The 2018 Audi Q5 petrol today officially went on sale in India priced at ₹ 55.27 lakh. The petrol variant of the SUV follows the launch of the Q5 diesel, which was introduced in India only early this year in January.
Audi Q5 petrol is available in two variants- Technology and Premium Plus. While the Premium Plus variant costs ₹ 55.27 lakh, the Technology variant is priced at ₹ 59.79 lakh (ex-showroom India). The new Audi Q5 petrol is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre TFSI engine that churns out a maximum of 248 bhp and develops a peak torque of 370 Nm. The engine is mated to a seamless 7-speed dual clutch transmission and is also assisted by Audi’s signature Quattro all-wheel-drive system.
Visually, the only noticeable difference between the petrol and the diesel variant of the 2018 Audi Q5 is that the former comes with the ’45 TFSI’ badge at the rear instead of the ’35 TDI’ seen on the latter. This means that the 2018 Audi Q5 petrol comes with the same design and styling, which includes Audi’s signature single-frame grill with chrome treatment that is flanked by a pair of sharp-looking Matrix LED headlamps (on the top-end model) with integrated LED daytime running lamps. In fact, the stock petrol variant of the SUV even gets the same five-spoke alloy wheels although, for those who want something different Audi does offers an array of customisation options.
