This monsoon session of parliament which was started from 18th July is now moving towards the end. The parliament witnessed no-confidence motion against the government, which was terrifically proved out to be the victory for BJP. This parliamentary session is still going well with the passing of several key legislation with both Houses equally.
Both the Houses have passed five major bills till now and there are possibilities of passage of key legislations in coming days. Like the Bill to grant the National Commission for Backward Classes status of a constitutional authority and a bill to restore automatic arrest for cases under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The NCBC bill is pending from last one year because opposition forced amendments in Rajya Sabha.
Productivity of this monsoon session is very high than the preceding of last budget session which saw a complete washout in both the Houses. Productivity of Lok Sabha was 4% and productivity of Rajya Sabha was 8% only. Parliament’s smooth function was quite surprise for the members as earlier two sessions were least productive in last 15 years. Despite oppositions agenda to corner the government over several issues and made session happening.
